How app does work
Health tracking watch app tracks users' basic health conditions
On the Mobile app, users can check their daily health state as well as statistic
If needed, users can make a reservation for the doctor's appointment on the mobile app
From the nurse and doctor side, they can also obtain patients' health tracking information by the mobile app
Project overview
Nowadays, urbanization continues to draw people to cities, while smaller municipalities have been shrinking. The Hoitokontti aims to lower the threshold of taking the outpatient treatment. Additionally, Hoitokontti contributes to preventive health care.

Requirements
Main target: Local residents live in rural areas of Finland. Especially, elderly Finnish people. Target age group is around 60 to 80 years old.
In rural areas, healthcare services are often far away. Therefore seeing a nurse or doctor requires significant time and travel, which may lead people to skip appointments.
Delayed care can worsen conditions, making treatment more demanding and expensive.
Low utilization rate of local healthcare centres because of urbanisation.
Disability-friendly aspects are needed since older people tend to have any physical health issues.
Elderlies want to use easy and simple app. They desire to use the assistive functions to achieve what they want.

Solutions
Hoitokontti provides a modular, mobile, and transferable clinic for health check-ups and outpatient care.
Contribute to local people’s preventive health care via better health check-ups.
The advantage of this service is also for the matter of construction budget for the local government. Hoitokontti service would provide medical services to local residents at a low construction cost.
By bringing essential services closer, we lower the threshold for people to seek professional help early.
Health tracking mobile and watch apps help patients to monitor their health condition by themselves.
For the accessibility to Hoitokontti, patients can easily make their reservation on the website and app.
Information from health tracking apps is transferred to a healthcare service database, allowing nurses and doctors to monitor the patient's health status.
Solution breakdown
Mobile, modular health clinic designed for rural Finland
Staffed by 2–3 nurses providing basic health check-ups, lab services with test kits, and a simple emergency room
Compact container unit transported by truck between multiple locations
Operates on a fixed weekly route with set days and times for each community
Provides consistent access to preventive care and outpatient services
Utilization data collected at each stop to optimize routes and relocate the unit if underused
Ideation
In this project, the health tracking app was part of an overall service design.
We were required to propose the service content and art concept based on the demand research. In the middle, we have revised the main concept to reflect the current state of Finland's medical services and budget.
Customer journey map
There are customer journey maps for both the patient and the nurse, doctor side.
For the patients' one, we have made two patterns of maps that are walk-in patients and patients with reservations to consider customers' different behaviours more clearly.
Design guideline
Based on the service concept, I have defined the tone and manner as "Blue (70%) - implies Clear and Credible, Intellectual / Yellow orange (30%) - implies Familiarity and Casual, Pleasant". Since seniors are the main target, we have aimed to create an approachable atmosphere while conveying that Hoitokontti is a trustworthy medical service.
